Creativity, New Chapters & Cute Clothes. Plus WINNER of the Libi & Lola Giveaway

Wow what a crazy few weeks it has been over here. I went from being terribly sick, to finding a great new job & starting it, to starting school, which all has left me lacking on the blog and my Etsy shop. I do apologize for the lack of posts but I will now be back on the grind thanks to some newfound inspiration.

Last week A & I went to Santa Cruz to meet up with a few friends he met in college. These two lovely ladies are the faces behind The Smoking Nuns an LA based fashion blog which is absolutely amazing! They are also they brains behind George & Laurel their very own jewelry line (which launched very recently) entitled "Ladies Who Lunch" (you must take a look their line. Their ear cuff "The Norbert" is to die for!!)  Needless we connected on SO many levels. I had so many questions for them and felt kind of silly asking so many but I had to know ;) I left that night feeling more than inspired.

A few days later I added the newest addition to my ink collection. I got the word Creativity tattooed on the inside of my right middle finger. I absolutely love it!! Starting my new job (working with children again!) and this newfound inspiration made me want to be reminded everyday to be creative. Every time I look down at my hand it makes me smile because I know creativity is what keeps me going.

Sorry for the rambling haha. Now on to the fun stuff! Right now am in absolute love with pattern leggings and this slouchy long sleeve tee by The Printed Palette (which can be found HERE). Alissa (the owner and designer) is amazing to work with. I cannot get over how comfy her tshirts are (& not to mention adorable!) If you know me you know I am all about looking good and being comfy. That's why it is rare you will ever see me in jeans haha.

Spring Fling with a Twist

Because today was warmer than the usual 50 degrees and below (for California winter weather haha)  I decided to dress a little more spring like. Pink and green always remind me of spring and warmer weather! I think it is because as a kid growing up I always remembered seeing the bright pink flowers starting to bud in my neighbors yard and I knew that spring was right around the corner.

I decided to pair the green in my jeans with a neutral top to offset the brightness and added pops of bright pink for a little flair. I actually straightened my hair for once (which is not usual for me lately because I'm really trying to grow it out) and pulled it into a side fishtail braid, securing it with my new favorite hair ties courtsey of Kitsch.

I am Literally obsessed with how durable and cute their hair ties and headbands are (and even look adorable worn as bracelets on your wrist!). The Blues

Today's post is all about rocking the blues. For once I am wearing jeans (gasp!) haha. It is quite cold here today and I figured I would layer up a bit. So I grabbed my trusty skinnies, my favorite teal long sleeve tee (I grabbed on a great sale at Target) & A's trusty slouchy beanie. I swear sometimes I love wearing his more than mine (guys beanies are so much thicker and warmer!!) I wanted to match the tan in the beanie to my shoes so I grabbed these lovely tennies. I swear they are one of my favorite pairs of tennis shoes & they are so dang cute. A bought these along with a grey and black pair of coach flats for me a few Christmases ago and I fell in love. To top it off I added one of my favorite new bracelets courtesy of Gloss Jewelry based out of Utah. They have the most adorable jewelry at such affordable prices!

 The B Charmed interchangeable bracelet in silver is seriously my new go to piece. It comes with 3 interchangeable strands (crystal, pearl, and silver chain) and you can buy extra strands to match with any outfit. Here I am wearing the turquoise strand as well as the pearl and crystal. They have clasps on each end of the strand so you can add as many or as little as you'd like. All of their jewelry is to die for & even comes in a drawstring pouch for easy travel & care. Sneak Peak at Tomorrow's Giveaway with Libi & Lola

So todays post will be short and sweet as I am overcoming the stomach flu. Let me tell you it is not fun! Although today I feel 100 times better (thankfully!). Sunday Afternoon Adventures

Sunday's are the days A & I get to spend most of the day together. He's off & I don't have to be at work until 4. So me being the ADHD type of person that I am, wanted to get out of the house and go somewhere(since there was no football on today obviously hehe). So we decided to take a trip out to San Juan Bautista. If you have not been here before you must go! It's a really small one stoplight town with major antique stores (A's favorite! JK) & home of the San Juan Mission. If your an old movie buff you'll know that part of the 1958 movie Vertigo was filmed at the mission (has to be one of my favorite movies! Probably because I love SF & I grew up in the area haha). Anyways we had a nice time walking through town with Marley & of course me stopping in the stores while my boys waited outside.

I stopped in this cute little store that was going out of business, which had tons of  Dia De Los Muertos & Mexcian folk art in it. If you know me you know that I absolutley love anything that has to do with Day of the Dead! (I mean anthing!). I think ever since I went to a Dia De Los Muertos exhibit in San Jose that A's dad was a part of (he is an amazing artist btw) I have been obsessed. There is where I found out that my name in Spanish is one of the iconic symbols of Day of the Dead, La Catrina. I love anything that has to do with Calavera's and even want to finish off my arm with a tattoo of one ;) So when I walked into the store  about died! Needless to say it wasn't hard for me to fall in love with most everything in there. I finally settled on a Frida Kahlo switch plate cover (LOVE) and handmade sugar skull earrings. 

We finished off the trip by stoping in this amazing bakery to pick up cinnamon loaf bread and a few turnovers. Not a bad Sunday if you ask me!

Current Obsessions: Date Night & Animal Print

So I must admit I am loving A & I's weekly date nights. It allows us to get out of the house for a night & out of this small town ( I mean don't get me wrong I love where we live but it can ge pretty REALLY boring sometimes). So since he was feeling better we decided to make it a night out & bring the pup along for the ride (which he LOVES!). So we hopped in the car and made the trip to A's hometown which we don't live too far from & where most everything is. We made a few stops before dinner (#1 PICK UP SUPERBOWL 49ER HATS) & ended the night early since we both didn't feel 100% back to normal.

I have to admit I am also currently obsessed with animal print! I think if I could I would wear it 24/7 I would, but I know everyone would get sick of it & me haha. So I try to add a flair every once in awhile. Last night I added this awesome sweater I got from Kohl's & my go-to tan boots (I think I need a new pair, maybe in brown ;) hehe). Pretty cute date night outfit if I do say so myslef!
